Under the supervision and guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN) the Nursing Care Assistant is responsible to provide daily services involving basic care for patients, processing physicians’ orders, answering the telephone and intercom, performing a variety of clerical duties and clinical tasks as well as other assigned unit duties. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served. Responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs that focus on the care that is provided by nursing care assistants. Will assist with secretarial work including but not limited to: filing paperwork, working with HealthStream creating classes and rosters, assisting with RQI management and upkeep, and actively participating in education initiatives. The focus of the role is education, resilience, and development. This role will teach NCA classes and assist in the management and follow-up with NCAs that are onboarding to the hospital system. This individual will be responsible for teaching weekly NCA classes and must be willing to become a certified basic life support instructor. This position cultivates an environment conducive to optimizing competent, compassionate care.  This position will serve in the Nurse Education, Resilience, and Development Department.
