The Clinical Practice Leader has the responsibility for providing clinical leadership at the practice level. The Clinical Practice Leader works with all members of the care team to establish a view of the patients served within the practice(s) to assure patient safety, satisfaction, and quality of care.

Assists with identification of multidisciplinary resources needed to facilitate staff in meeting individual needs and practice needs
Evaluates operational issues, makes recommendations at the individual and practice levels to promote cost-effective quality care
Facilitates the work of the practice to meet the needs and expectations of the practice for quality patient care
Standards/guidelines development and implementation
Policies and procedures development and implementation
Documentation/protocol development and implementation
Clinical practice issues tracking and follow-up
Monitors the quality of clinical documentation
Utilizes evidenced-based knowledge to guide practice work
Reviews, evaluates, and disseminates current information/relevant data
Reviews outcome data to identify practice process improvements
Monitors clinical outcomes and uses data to focus the team on practice improvements
Reviews all reported clinical errors for process improvement
Assures that patient care teams are in compliance with the Nurse Practice Act and CMS
Assures that team is aware of policy/procedure/regulations/standards and administers policies consistently
Assures compliance with safety and infection control policies
Manages peer review/incident reports as assigned
Implements peer review process for staff as assigned
Provides leadership to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of practice change as assigned
Facilitates the work of unit-based education
Continuing education in-services
Implements practice-based educational plan which is competency-based
Facilitates/develops preceptors as assigned
Supports team in meeting the customer satisfaction targets established by RHPA
Supports team by recognizing and celebrating successes and failures, giving credit publicly, actively participating in team activities, treating team members with respect and dignity
Always considers safety first when making decisions
Implements service recovery initiatives promptly with all customer groups
Works in collaboration with department leadership and providers to develop and deliver patient care of the highest standard by all within the practice(s)
Education Required: BSN preferred; will consider ASN-prepared candidates who are willing to pursue a Bachelor's degree within 3 years of hire.
Experience Required: Minimum of five years as an RN in a related field or specialty. Specialties include, but are not limited to: Primary Care, Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular, General Surgery, OB/GYN, Urological Care, ENT/Allergy, Plastics, Orthopedics/Spine/Podiatry, and Medical Specialties.
Licensure: Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana and/or Ohio.
Certification: BLS required.
