The C.O.T.A. is a skilled clinician who performs occupational therapy treatment to patients under the supervision of a registered occupational therapist. Occupational therapy is provided for treatment of physical disability and psychological disorders.

Education Required: Associates degree in Occupational Therapy Technology from an AOTA-accredited educational program.
Education Preferred: N/A
Experience Required: None required.
Experience Preferred: Preference may be given to individuals with advanced clinical experience or skills.
Licensure: Must be fully certified in Indiana to practice as an Occupational Therapist Assistant. May work with a Temporary Permit under the stipulated supervision of an O.T. in accordance with Indiana regulations.
Additionally, if assigned to provide services in Ohio, the C.O.T.A. is required to hold a current Ohio license.
