The FNS Team member performs a variety of duties.  They include: accurate and attractive tray assembly, tray delivery to patients, operation of the dishmachine, sanitation of work area, dishes, and equipment, preparation of food items for patient room service and cafeteria, cafeteria sales and operation of cash registers.  The FNS Team Member demonstrates Courtesy, positive Attitude, Respect, and Enthusiasm to patients, visitors, and co-workers.

Overview of Responsibilities

  • Sets up cafeteria counters and patient Room Service area according to standard lay-out. Puts out correct portion serving utensils. Maintains the temperature of hot food and cold foods.
  • Assembles the patient tray accurately and attractively. Serves cafeteria food using correct portion sizes. 
  • Accurately assembles prepared foods for regular and modified diet trays. Portions cold food items in an attractive and appetizing manner. 
  • Will deliver food carts/trucks to patient serving areas and return trays to dish room for clean-up work. 
  • May work alone or as part of a team in the dish room and/or in kitchen sanitation.
  • Responsible for operation of the dish machine, delivery of clean dishes and utensils to proper kitchen areas. Hand wash items using appropriate sanitizer. 
  • Sanitizes patient and cafeteria food carts and other equipment to maintain high standards of sanitation. Maintains kitchen counters, dining room area, and furnishings in a clean and sanitary manner. 
  • Responsible for sweeping and mopping floors, periodically uses floor scrubber and washes walls in the department. 
  • Performs a variety of kitchen duties as assigned by supervisor. 
  • Delivers patient trays to patients as assigned by supervisor. Stocks assigned    areas (room service, patient floors, cafeteria, dish room, pot room, food prep areas) with supplies. 
  • Performs catering duties to include set-up, serving, and clean-up
  • of special events. 
  • Participates in the training of new FNS Team Members.

Education/Experience

Preferred: Previous work in a food and nutrition setting.

Schedule Details

Evening Shift. 40 Hours weekly. 11a-7:30p on weekdays. Every other weekend;
