• Accurately evaluates requests for radiologic procedures.
• Obtains patient history and symptoms.
• Performs radiologic procedures per physicians' orders in accordance with Radiology Department policies and procedures.Provides care appropriate to the age-specific needs of the patients served.
• Provides explanation and instruction to patients regarding radiologic procedures.
• Demonstrates CARE Principles at all times in interactions with patients.
• Demonstrates effective communication with patients and families.
• Performs patient transportation as necessary.
• Initiates emergency measures as necessary.
• Administers contrast material in accordance with individual competency and the type and age of the patient.
• Properly preps patients for invasive procedures.
• Proper insertion of foley catheters.
• Properly performs venipuncture, placement of IV catheters, and Vein Viewer when indicated.
• Accurately performs appropriate documentation.
• Considers the whole patient including safety, comfort, age of patient, spiritual, cultural and religious practices, emotional needs/barriers, desire and motivation, physical and or cognitive limitations and language barriers in the implementation of care.

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology with an Indidana license. 

Certification: Current registration in radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Current CPR certification.
