The inventory clerk is responsible for inventory operations in the main warehouse. The inventory clerk is responsible for performing receiving and delivery functions. The inventory clerk is responsible for providing periodic automatic resupply (PAR) services. The inventory clerk is responsible for the proper routing, handling, and delivery of all interoffice, incoming/outgoing US Mail, and overnight shipment packages.

Overview of Responsibilities

  • Working on the Receiving Dock, signs for shipments acknowledging receipt of freight/goods. Assists, as appropriate, with the off-loading of goods.
  • Opens containers, inspects product, counts, and verifies unit of measure by comparing to the purchase order. Makes appropriate notes of discrepancies and notifies buyer for resolution.
  • Delivers merchandise to appropriate end-users and departments. Provides department with a delivery ticket.
  • Transports supplies to appropriate nursing unit and/or departments.
  • Responsible for accurately putting supplies into and issuing supplies from inventory. Ensures all supplies are properly placed in their respective bin location, stock is rotated, and supplies are in adequate supply and within proper expiration dates.
  • Conducts counts of assigned PAR locations and carts. Responsible for accuracy of supplies quantities and product availability in assigned locations.
  • Maintains PAR locations to ensure cleanliness, accurate placement of supplies, product sterility, and product out dates.
  • In cases of stock outages, performs stock reallocation activities between PAR supply locations to ensure that all areas have needed supplies.
  • Performs all departmental activities in a customer focused, friendly, professional, caring manner.
  • Ability to maintain a good working relationship among personnel in all departments. Must be capable of treating everyone with courtesy, respect, and enthusiasm in all interactions. Must have a positive attitude.
  • Must be customer service focused with demonstrated experience in good customer relations and customer service.
  • Must be capable of working effectively in a team-oriented environment. Capable of working cooperatively with team members and willing to act as a resource to co-workers.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong computer skills required.  Must be able to demonstrate competency.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be a self-starter able to work, productively, while working independently.
  • Must possess a high degree of conscientiousness and be capable of exercising good judgment while making independent decisions.
  • No physical limitations in ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, push, pull, etc. of loads up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to use a hand held computer terminal, hand truck, flat bed cart, motorized pallet jack, etc.
  • Performs other tasks/duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  1. Must be customer service focused with demonstrated experience in good customer relations and customer service.
  2. Must have excellent communication skills.  Ability to read, write, type, and utilize a computer required.  Must be able to demonstrate competency.
  3. Must be a self-starter able to work, productively, while working independently.
  4. Must possess a high degree of conscientiousness and be capable of exercising good judgment while making independent decisions.
  5. Experience with medical supplies and medical terminology is preferred.
  6. No physical limitations in ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, push, pull, etc. of loads up to 50 lbs.
  7. Must be able to use a hand held computer terminal, hand truck, flat bed cart, motorized pallet jack, etc.

Schedule Details

Day shift. 40 hours weekly. Monday - Friday. 7am – 3:30pm.
