Collects patient’s facesheet from the printer as the Registrar completes the patient’s check-in and calls the appropriate modality to notify of patient’s arrival, assists physicians with reports, burns CD’s and pushes images to the Cloud, answers incoming telephone calls, transfers calls, prepares proper documentation for release of films, transmittal of STAT interpretations, accurately records STAT start time, end time, when the technician called, when the radiologist dictated the exam, and when the report was given to ER, the nursing unit, or the physician’s office for our quarterly QA&I.

Overview of Responsibilities

  • Collect printed facesheet upon patient check-in and call appropriate modality to notify of patient’s arrival when working the inpatient front desk.
  • Learn and become proficient with the functions of EPIC as pertains to the functions necessary for Radiology.
  • Assist staff physicians with image retrieval and report results.
  • Must be flexible to work at any work station when needed.
  • Accurate transmission of STAT interpretations by calling ER, the physician’s office, or the nursing unit.
  • Knowledge of color code filing system and ability to view images on PACS.
  • Reception duties such as, initial patient greeting, answering telephone, transmission of messages, and ability to make outgoing calls.
  • Maintenance (orderliness and cleanliness) of work area.
  • Participation in weekend and holiday coverage on a rotational basis or as needed.
  • Cooperation with all hospital personnel and customers maintaining proper conduct and professionalism.
  • Participation in training of new personnel.

Education/Experience

Education Required: High School Diploma

Education Preferred: Medical terminology and computer skills. 

Schedule Details

Day shift. 20 hours weekly. Monday - Friday 2pm - 6pm
